Who can we help?
We can help present and past members of Equity as well as other
adult professional performers and their dependants. All applicants
must be able to demonstrate genuine financial need in order to be
considered. Those who qualify for support are normally people who
are unable to work due to poor health, an accident or due to old
age.
What help can I expect?
We provide one-off grants for unforeseen financial emergencies
such as a utility bill, urgent repairs to the home, respite care,
etc. The Trustees would also consider private health costs providing
there was sufficient evidence to prove that the operation could
not be undertaken within the short term to allow the individual
to continue working.
We do not provide regular monthly support as this
is adequately covered by our sister
charities.
Who should I contact?
If you wish to receive an application form or if there
is any doubt about whether you would qualify for our assistance
then please contact our Case Worker Miranda
Connell. Miranda is a trained Welfare Rights advisor and is
therefore able to ensure that you are receiving the correct State
Benefits.
How long does it take?
Meetings are scheduled to take place every six weeks of the Welfare
Committee and the outcome of that meeting is advised to you normally
within the next 5 working days. |
